The Mystery of Pain

The Mystery of Pain

“Pain has an element of blank;
It cannot recollect”( Emily Dickinson)

These two lines from the first verse of the poem “Mystery of Pain”, is powerful.  The lines are interpreting that this “blank” property belong to pain and pain cannot felt twice.

“It has no future but itself,
Its infinite realms contain,
Its past, enlightened to perceive,
New Periods of pain”. ( Emily Dickinson)

The second verse of the poem and it tells you that pain its infinite because we would have different pain for different suffering. However, no pain last forever so that’s why it has no way growing more of the pain it already it is. Dickinson it’s talking about of the past pain that remembers the pain and how the future looks pain that’s either suffering physical or emotional.
